7.5 Size and Shape of Feasible Sets

The first thing to notice when you build the feasible joint torque set in Fig. 7.5 is that each and every muscle affects the size and shape of the zonotope. Given that the transformation by the is linear, it stands to reason that the larger the feasible joint torque set is, the larger the feasible output wrench set will be. Having large joint torque and feasible force sets is, of course, desirable as it grants the system greater mechanical output capabilities, such as strength, but there are some interesting physiological consequences to zonotopes created by Minkowski sums:
